ST1TCH Activities for Dayton 2010
May 13, 14, 15, 2010
This year in Dayton the ladies will again have a conference room at the Holiday Inn all too ourselves. When you arrive at the motel there will be signs posted letting you know where the ST1TCH Activities will be held.
For May 13th and 14th we will be able to enjoy each other and our hobbies while the guys do Ham Radio Stuff. In the last few years we have had gals from across the country stop by to stitch, talk, read or just have a cup of coffee and a cookie. So please bring your current project and come join us on Thursday and Friday.
This year we will be offering a class to make a sweet basket pictured below. The class will be taught by Linda Dziekan on Thursday May 13th.
This is a simple “make it and take it” project, with all the materials in a kit for you. The fabric and basket colors will vary. There is no sewing except for two buttons.
This project is really for an experienced crafter or a novice.
The cost is $4.00. You can pay on the 13th.
You will need to bring a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun with about five or six glue sticks. There will be extra glue guns if you do not have one.
The basket should take one to two hours to complete.
If you are interested would you please respond to kathiekohl@gmail.com by April 30, 2010. That will give us enough time to get enough kits ready.
There will be a "free table" set up for things that you don't need any more or excess to your needs. Feel free to bring craft books, craft supplies, fabric, yarn, patterns or even fiction books that you would like to pass on or exchange for something new. Even a project you may have started and never finished or one you just don’t want to finish. Because there have been so many types of projects since the inception of the ST1TCH group, I would ask that people bring their finished projects from years past or at least a picture so we can enjoy the end results. I find that this acts as an incentive to others who may still be working on some of these projects to get going again.
Dayton is not just staying at the motel and stitching or crafting.
There is always so much to do and see.
In years past we have done car pooling to visit historic Waynesville, OH., gone to the Outlet Mall for some shopping and even visited various quilt shops and cross stitch stores.
There are museums, flea markets and so much more to do in Dayton.
The staff of the Holiday Inn will gladly help you find wherever you would like to go.
Usually gals can find a way to car pool if they want to shop or visit an historic spot or museum.
Of course the internet is a great way to find what special events are happening in Dayton the third weekend in May.
