2008 "ST1TCH" News
(formerly referred to as "alternative activities" for Dayton)
Hello to all (from snowwy Michigan!!)
It is March and time to begin thinking about Dayton!! Last year we offered a group stitching project (A BIRDHOUSE HEART by Sekas & Co.) and those who worked on this project really seemed to enjoy it – and some even have it finished and framed!! We also had several new gals join us with a variety of projects that included, knitting, crocheting, tatting, reading and chatting as well as shopping!!
This year we are offering TWO projects:
The first is a counted cross stitch kit entitled "St1tch" based on a kit by Hinzeit. This kit will include the chart, charms and antique Aida cloth. You can personalize your kit by choosing fibers that appeal to you. If you would like to preview this kit, please visit www.Hinzeit.com (Please note that the kit displayed will not show the altered chart changing the "I" to a "1"). The cost of this kit (excluding fibers) is $12.25.
The second is a directional canvas work kit entitled "Winter Quilt" from Nancy's Needle. This kit will include the chart with custom button, all specialty fibers, and canvas (that is already stretched and attached to the stretcher bars). If you would like to preview this kit, please visit www.fromnancysneedle.com. There are no individualized choices with this kit. The cost of this kit (all inclusive) is $51.00.
To order kits, please contact:
Deb at Stitches N Things.
Phone No. 810-629-3333.
Orders need to be placed by no later than April 15, 2008. When ordering please let Deb know that you are with the Dayton Ham Radio group.
OTHER IDEAS?? We are always looking for additional thoughts or ideas that will make Dayton 2008 an even bigger success than last year! I would love to hear from you.
Also, if you prefer to work on something you currently have please bring it along and come join us. It is the diversity of our interests and personalities that help this group to flourish – and who knows you might just end up finding a new interest.
Meeting Place at Dayton – Hank Kohl (K8DD) is working with the Holiday Inn to provide our "st1tching" group with a meeting room at Dayton. – It will be in the Kitty Hawk room, beside the Ballroom, next to where it was last year, only 42 steps to the tavern in the Holiday Inn. More details will be provided later.
